The Origins of Teachus - Understanding is the key to success!
It all started back a decade ago when the two co-founders of Teachus ( Remal Tailor and Jay Ruparelia) hadn't even met. Both were tutoring students privately to earn a part-time living whilst completing their A-levels.
Having found it difficult to find good tutors to help them through their own studies, Remal and Jay made sure that the material they taught to their students was clear,concise and incorporated the best learning methods.
They became overnight successes and students from far awide came seeking their help. However of course Remal and Jay could only take on a limited number of students and so until 2003 only a lucky few got a taste of good tutoring.
Through sheer determination and a burning passion to gain (and share) knowledge Remal and Jay managed to secure university places at UCL in Sept 2003. Their hard work in their own studies had paid off. They were now being taught at one of the top ten universites not only in the UK but in the world by leading lecutrers.
Within weeks of starting at UCL, these two budding entrepreneurs became best of buddies and shared their tutoring stories with each other. They clearly saw a gap in the tutoring market!
The simple fact was parents and students alike didn't know where to look for good tutors. They instantly realised that this was their calling! They had to find a way to pass on their teaching methods to not one tutor or ten tutors but thousands so that education was passed down passionately.

A few years of meticulous planning took place. The concept was there but both needed captial to make this happen. Graduating in 2007 they were headhunted by top investment banks to join their firm. Both knew that this would be the only way to earn quick money to make their dream come true. So for a gruelling two years they worked painstakingly hard and finally in January 2009 Teachus was born.
Today Teachus is London’ leading online tutor-matching service. It offers traditional agency matching services ie you give your requirements to our education consultant and they will match you with the best possible tutor on our books.
What makes us a cut above the rest is that not only does Teachus offer the traditional service but allows the client to find their own tutor online 24/7. In addition to this Teachus has a more affordable group tuition option at their own study centres. Even though today they have so many staff that could easily run these centres, you will still see Remal and Jay giving a helping hand at the study centres every week without fail.
